I have reached the end of the trail installing coda again.

  I have this in my /vice/srv/SrvErr:

Assertion failed: file "srv.cc", line 1808

  Seems the RPC2 stuff isn't working.  Do I need some special daemon that's
not mentioned in the INSTALL or activated by init.d/vice.init ?

  Of course, the real show-stopper is this in SrvLog:
