I just reinstalled my coda server; I am now unable to create volumes. Here's what happens: [root_at_triffid /coda_parts]# createvol_rep coda.root E0000100 /vicepa Servers are (triffid) HexGroupId is 7F000000 creating volume coda.root.0 on triffid V_BindToServer: binding to host triffid.je.yale.edu Volume 2a000001 (coda.root.0) created V_BindToServer: binding to host triffid.je.yale.edu VolMakeVLDB failed with Unknown RPC2 return code 102 <echo coda.root 7F000000 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 E0000100 >> /vice/vol/VRList> V_BindToServer: binding to host triffid.je.yale.edu VolMakeVRDB failed with Unknown RPC2 return code 200 Do you wish this volume to be Backed Up (y/n)? [n] y Day to take full dumps: [Mon] echoing 7F000000 IFIIIII coda.root >>/vice/db/dumplist Notice the calls failing with "Unknown RPC2 return code". There is nothing at all in /vice/srv/SrvErr; here is the end of /vice/srv/SrvLog: 22:17:52 Starting SmonDaemon timer 22:17:53 File Server started Sat Apr 18 22:17:53 1998 22:18:38 create: volume 2a000001 (coda.root.0) created makevldb: no data base entries found in input file; aborted 22:18:39 Bad input line(1): coda.root 7F000000 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 E0000100 22:18:39 makevrdb aborted Anybody have any insight into what's going on here? I recompiled coda with some changes I've made to the backup system to test them out, so maybe I've done something there to break volume creation. I don't really know where to start looking, though.
