It is important that all servers have all databases the same in /vice/db; so the second server sees the same things as the first. Your "segfault" (actually, that is a bit over the top since it is asserting, and could equally well exit) is caused by the second server not being able to match its hostname against the entries in servers. Are you multihoming by any chance? That would require a couple of changes to the code.
