Certainly, initrd can be helpful.  The point is that the stage 1 init
script has to be carefully constructed.  Once that is done we (or you) can
package up the stuff into an initrd.

All we wanted to explain is what the issues are that init1 needs to do and
what problems we expect for init stage 2. 

By the way I _LOVE_ the redneck install.  Can you do one for Coda too?
