Hi Ulrich, Thanks for trying Coda. For one reason or another your update server has crashed - this must be running before you can make volumes. Unfortunately you now have a corrupt VLDB (yup, I know we need to make this more user friendly...). The way to get past this is: 1. shutdown the server (volutil shutdown) 2. run vice-killvolumes 3. start update server 4. start fileserver 5. try again During the make you should type "make coda" so that the header files get installed automatically. We will make "make coda" the default target because many others have been confused about this. We are switching to EGCS too - release 4.6.3 will be compiled with that. - Peter - On Fri, 24 Jul 1998, Ullrich Martini wrote: > Hello, > > On a Debian Linux 2.0, Kernel 2.1.109 with coda modules > from this kernel, and coda-4.6.1 (sources compiled with > gcc 2.7.3.2/ egcs 2.90.29, not the rpms) I get the following > error: > > #/usr/local/sbin/startserver& > > #/usr/local/sbin/createvol_rep codaroot E0000100 /vicepb > Servers are (atbroy21) > HexGroupId is 7F000003 creating volume codaroot.0 on atbroy21 > V_BindToServer: binding to host atbroy21.informatik.tu-muenchen.de > Volume 1000002 (codaroot.0) created > Fetching /vice/vol/Volumelist from atbroy21 > > Date: Fri 07/24/98 > > 10:02:54 Bind failed with RPC2_NOBINDING (F) > > Trouble getting new list for server atbroy21 > cat: *.list: No such file or directory > V_BindToServer: binding to host atbroy21 > VolMakeVLDB failed with Unknown RPC2 return code 102 > <echo codaroot 7F000003 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 E0000100 >> /vice/vol/VRList> > V_BindToServer: binding to host atbroy21 > VolMakeVRDB failed with Unknown RPC2 return code 200 > Do you wish this volume to be Backed Up (y/n)?
