On Red Hat systems, > they include egcs, but /usr/lib/libstdc++ still points at libstdc++-2.7.2 Yes, I am sure. Debian doesn't install the c++ part of gcc 2.7.2 by default, nor the development files for libg++272. Thus: iko_at_twoflower:ttyp6[~/<1>coda/coda]20:24> ldd /usr/sbin/venus libstdc++.so.2.8 => /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.2.8 (0x40010000) libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x40055000) libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x4006e000) /lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x40000000) so it's definitely libstdc++ 2.8 Regards, /Anders -- -- Of course I'm crazy, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong.
