Yes, I am sure. Debian doesn't install the c++ part of gcc 2.7.2 by default, 
nor the development files for libg++272. Thus:

iko_at_twoflower:ttyp6[~/<1>coda/coda]20:24> ldd /usr/sbin/venus
        libstdc++.so.2.8 => /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.2.8 (0x40010000)
        libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x40055000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x4006e000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x40000000)

so it's definitely libstdc++ 2.8
