This is in fact our fault.  

A)

After setting up the server you start auth2, rpc2portmap, updatesrv and
updateclnt.

You must then do:

createvol_rep "YOUR ROOTVOLUME NAME" E0000100 /vicepa
(assuming you chose /vicepa).

With an unreplicated volume, you cannot have disconnected operation. 


B)  

YOU MUST first authenticate.  That means you need either to install new
Coda users and do clog before going disconnected, or you install a user
admin with uid 500 and do 

clog admin
passwd: changeme

Again, otherwise you cannot do anything after you disconnect.

We will make this clearer at setup time (I modified the setup scripts this
afternoon to be clear about the replicated volume stuff).  Jan will fix up
the warnings about authenticating before reintegrating.

You should take a good chunk of time to prepare the demo.  Ask us for

NFS server: no, we don't know why. 
Samba: yes, I use it all the time.

authentication can now be done kerberized even!
encryption is still weak.  Robert Watson will improve the options in the
near future.
