A new version of Coda, 5.3.3 has been released,

The differences with 5.3.2 are small. But some showstopping server
problems have been fixed, so it was about time to make a new release.

Binaries have been built for the same usual set,
 FreeBSD 2.2.5 and 3.1, NetBSD 1.3, Linux (RedHat-5.2) (All i386)

Coda clients and servers also have been build successfully on ARM, PPC,
and SPARC processors, as well as on Solaris. For the daredevils, the
alpha release of the the Solaris kernel module source is available at,
    ftp://ftp.coda.cs.cmu.edu/pub/coda/src/solaris-coda-0.01.tgz

* Bugfixes that went into this version.

Server related
- Problems with VSGDB parsing on systems with glibc-2.1. This caused
headaches for several people when switching from a single server setup
to a replicated group of servers.
- Avoid fcntl locking on directories. The problem people observed as a
result of this bug was that the auth2 daemon crashed when trying to
add users with f.i. 'au nu'.
- The backup program didn't consider the [dumpdir] argument as optional.

Client related.
- Changing attributes fetched file data in some cases even when it
  wasn't necessary.

Build related.
- vcrcommon.h is now properly generated from vcrcommon.rpc2 to avoid
  timestamp related build problems.

* Compatibility with previous versions
    - network protocol: 5.3.1+
    - Coda clients: 5.3.1+
    - Coda servers, RVM/vicepa: no changes
                    pdb databases: 5.2.3+
