I don't know if I'm wrong, but:

1) i can't patch the vol-create.cc: i used cat patch.txt | patch -p0
2) file manually patched doesn't compile (I think adminindex isn't a known
var).
I solved the 2nd problem on line 226:

int adminindex, adminid, anyuserid;
---
