It appears that you loose some essenctial functionality in your kernel. Let me understand: the differ between the past and the future :) is just the ext3 support? I mean: did you change your kernel config? Kernel version? Anything else? Did the patch installed successfully? I know very few about kernel, but my impression is that ext3 is "an add-on", and it does not modify ext2 routines (but I may be wrong). Well, I think Coda has this effect... it was the same impression I got during my test sessions. Anyway, with time I changed my idea: Coda is very stable, VERY, and its limit is only scalability.
