Hi All, I have installed following versions of coda in linux-2.2.16 OS. coda-debug-client-5.3.2-1.i386.rpm coda-debug-server-5.3.2-1.i386.rpm I installed vice and venus setup as described in the INSTALL.linux doc. I first start the coda server on a machine wait.uccs.edu and then start the venus client on vinci.uccs.edu. I see following messages on the console of the machine where I start venus client. Date: Sun 09/16/101 16:26:39 /usr/coda/LOG setup for size 0x106cb2 16:26:39 /usr/coda/DATA initialized at size 0x41b2c8 16:26:39 brain-wiping recoverable store 16:26:40 loading recoverable store 16:26:40 starting VSGDB scan 16:26:40 0 vsg entries in table 16:26:40 0 vsg entries on free-list 16:26:40 starting VDB scan 16:26:40 1 vol entries in table (0 MLEs) 16:26:40 0 vol entries on free-list (0 MLEs) 16:26:41 starting FSDB scan (1666, 40000) (25, 75, 4) 16:26:41 0 cache files in table (0 blocks) 16:26:41 1666 cache files on free-list 16:26:41 starting HDB scan 16:26:41 0 hdb entries in table 16:26:41 0 hdb entries on free-list 16:26:41 Initial LRDB allocation 16:26:41 Getting Root Volume information... 16:26:41 Venus starting... The following messages are seen in the venus log on the client machine: [ W(20) : 0000 : 16:27:01 ] NotifyUserOfServerDownEvent [ W(20) : 0000 : 16:27:01 ] DiscoRef= 1 [ D(21) : 0000 : 16:27:01 ] WAIT OVER, elapsed = 14997.4 [ W(20) : 0000 : 16:27:02 ] ADMON STATS: DMQ Advice NOT valid. (uid = 0) After these messages the venus client terminates. Following are the messages in server log file: 16:26:45 client_GetVenusId: got new host 128.198.192.193:2430 16:26:45 Building callback conn. 16:26:45 No idle WriteBack conns, building new one 16:26:45 Writeback message to 128.198.192.193 port 2430 on conn 3e175e4a succeeded 16:32:39 Callback failed RPC2_DEAD (F) for ws 128.198.192.193, port 2430 16:32:39 Unbinding RPC2 connection 360388380 Surprisingly, with the same client setup if I try to connect to the test coda server, namely testserver.coda.cs.cmu.edu, I get connected and then I can play with /coda file system mounted on the client machine. Could anyone tell as to why this is happening. I cannot use any other version of linux I have to use linux-.2.216 for some reasons.
