Hi there, I just installed Coda from scratch on Redhat 7.3, but can't get updatesrv to start. When I invoke "/usr/sbin/updatesrv" there is no output, but also no running process around and non-scms can't connect. There is no error message, no log file entry. When I invoke "/usr/sbin/updatesrv -p /vice/db -d 4" then the following output is generated: [root_at_platon root]# /usr/sbin/updatesrv -p /vice/db -d 4 Date: Tue 07/02/2002 17:44:13 Export file: 'db' 17:44:13 Export file: 'db/auth2.pw' 17:44:13 Export file: 'db/auth2.tk' 17:44:13 Export file: 'db/auth2.tk.BAK' 17:44:13 Export file: 'db/auth2.lock' 17:44:13 Export file: 'db/dumplist' 17:44:13 Export file: 'db/files' 17:44:13 Export file: 'db/prot_users.db' 17:44:13 Export file: 'db/prot_index.db' 17:44:13 Export file: 'db/servers' 17:44:13 Export file: 'db/scm' 17:44:13 Export file: 'db/update.tk' 17:44:13 Export file: 'db/volutil.tk' 17:44:13 Export file: 'db/ROOTVOLUME' 17:44:13 Export file: 'db/VLDB' 17:44:13 Export file: 'db/VRDB' 17:44:13 Export file: 'db/VRList' 17:44:13 Export file: 'db/maxgroupid' 17:44:13 Export file: 'db/VSGDB' But still no process around. All other processes are fine: root 994 1 0 17:34 ? 00:00:00 /bin/sh /usr/sbin/startserver root 998 994 0 17:34 ? 00:00:01 codasrv root 999 1 0 17:34 ? 00:00:00 rpc2portmap root 1002 1 0 17:34 ? 00:00:00 updateclnt -h platon root 1089 1 0 17:41 ? 00:00:00 auth2 I couldn't find any help in the docs (besides: "make sure updatesrv is running"). Any ideas? Stephan A. RickauerReceived on 2002-07-02 11:50:29
