I cannot help you with either question but just a suggestion, if you
have modifications that you want to keep then grab a copy of the tar
files under /usr/coda/spool/<uid>/ (where <uid> is the uid of the
user(s) using coda), these tar files contain a backup of the modified
files and are made ever 10 minutes.  By grabbing a copy of these files
I have avoided losing my modifications in a couple of instances.
