Dear All I am having problems getting venus to start. I am running 6.0.3 on a Redhat 7.3 server with a 2.4.22 kernel. To start venus I run service venus start (where venus is the renamed venus.init script supplied with coda) If I try the same command again I get Starting venus: /usr/coda/venus.cache/pid exists, venus already running?. and an ls shows that /var/lock/subsys/venus.init exists. However ps -aux shows no process for venus and running service venus stop gives Shutting down venus: /etc/init.d/venus: kill: (23360) - No such process umount: /coda: not mounted done. The only entry in the system log is Dec 16 14:21:56 edm_bfhxx_fp002 kernel: Coda Kernel/Venus communications, v5.3.18, coda_at_cs.cmu.edu while venus.log contains [root_at_edm_bfhxx_fp002 etc]# more venus.log [ X(00) : 0000 : 16:12:07 ] Coda Venus, version 6.0.3 [ X(00) : 0000 : 16:12:07 ] Logfile initialized with LogLevel = 0 at Tue Dec 16 16:12:07 2003 [ X(00) : 0000 : 16:12:07 ] E StatsInit() [ X(00) : 0000 : 16:12:07 ] L StatsInit() [ X(00) : 0000 : 16:12:07 ] RecovDataSizes: Log = 0x10bae5, Data = 0x42eb94 [ X(00) : 0000 : 16:12:07 ] BeginRvmFlush (1, 9440, F) [ X(00) : 0000 : 16:12:07 ] EndRvmFlush [ X(00) : 0000 : 16:12:07 ] BeginRvmTruncate (7, 9600, F) [ X(00) : 0000 : 16:12:07 ] EndRvmTruncate [ X(00) : 0000 : 16:12:07 ] BeginRvmFlush (1, 830288, F) [ X(00) : 0000 : 16:12:07 ] EndRvmFlush [ X(00) : 0000 : 16:12:07 ] BeginRvmTruncate (1670, 830448, F) [ X(00) : 0000 : 16:12:08 ] EndRvmTruncate [ X(00) : 0000 : 16:12:08 ] BeginRvmFlush (1, 16808, F) [ X(00) : 0000 : 16:12:08 ] EndRvmFlush [ X(00) : 0000 : 16:12:08 ] BeginRvmTruncate (1, 16968, F) [ X(00) : 0000 : 16:12:08 ] EndRvmTruncate A find shows no venus.err file Can anyone suggest what I\'m doing wrong or where I might find more info to narrow the problem down.
