To use the old interface, either load coda5.ko instead of coda.ko, or add "options CODA_COMPAT_5" to your kernel config (along with the usual options required for Coda support). The alternative is to install Coda 6 instead of 5 from the ports collection. I'm not sure about Linux; it will either have a similar option somewhere, or you'll have to use Coda 6.
