I think the right thing to > do is to not use AC_CHECK_FUNCS for res_init(), but instead test it I guess you mean that the following two tests don't trigger linking against libresolv AC_SEARCH_LIBS(gethostbyname, resolv) AC_SEARCH_LIBS(res_search, resolv) This would mean that both gethostbyname and res_search are provided by libc, but some other functions are not. For some reason I thought res_init could be a #define, so I picked res_search. We could test for dn_expand or res_init, but I don't know what your libc provides. JanReceived on 2004-08-06 13:32:22
