I'm sure it only works on a LAN -- unless you have some kind of tunneling between servers. But right now if I cp a big file to coda in strongly connected mode, that file is being sent again to each of the replicas individually, so the same pipe has the same file traversing it multiple times. Multicast is a neat idea where its available. But not a priority relative to other stuff.
