By the way, this doesn't stop one from putting regular symbolic links
into the coda tree that goes to another realm.   For example:

---->/coda/coda.cs.wwu.edu/otherrealms
doe[17]$ pwd
/coda/coda.cs.wwu.edu/otherrealms

---->/coda/coda.cs.wwu.edu/otherrealms
doe[18]$ ls -l
total 1
lrwxr-xr-x  1 phil  65534  21 Oct 19 08:14 cmu -> /coda/coda.cs.cmu.edu

---->/coda/coda.cs.wwu.edu/otherrealms
doe[19]$ ls cmu
backup    hello.txt info      platforms project   tmp       usr
