> 2) The reply-to header is wrong (replies aren't directed back to the list > but to individual people) Hi, A mailing list does not have to alter a message in any way. It should not alter the reply-to address. Just imagine you want to send an email to the list but want the reply go to a specific email address. If the mailing list alter the reply-to field, it becomes impossible. But you can still use the reply-all functionnality, Mailman is smart enought not to send your reply to a member whose email is already in the to field. I suggest that you read this article, it is written in a better English than mine and it could explain you why this behaviour exists : http://www.unicom.com/pw/reply-to-harmful.html I am not neither admin of the codalist, nor involved in the coda team, I am just a user an admin of other mailing lists and I can tell you that the way codalist work is the good one. I hope that my user point of view answered your question. FrancoisReceived on 2007-02-12 04:14:45
