  2.1.96 seems to break my NFS (it complained a lot about mountd version
mismatch).  Also, it probably wanted a new version of the ncptools, because
the ones I had for my 2.0.33 kernel.

  I guess my OS distribution is too old.  I'll either have to wait a year to
upgrade, or ditch RedHat in favor of someone who integrates the new 2.2 kernel
with a libc5.
