Hi, I'm a new Coda user and I'm having some trouble getting Coda going. I set up 3 Servers and that seemed to go ok. However, when I try to connect to them, Venus gave the following: --------------------------------- [root_at_corvette /etc]# venus -init Date: Thu 05/03/2001 18:16:13 /usr/coda/LOG size is 548341 bytes 18:16:13 /usr/coda/DATA size is 2193364 bytes 18:16:13 Initializing RVM data... 18:16:13 ...done 18:16:13 Loading RVM data 18:16:13 starting VDB scan 18:16:13 1 volume replicas 18:16:13 0 replicated volumes 18:16:13 0 CML entries allocated 18:16:13 0 CML entries on free-list 18:16:13 starting FSDB scan (833, 20000) (25, 75, 4) 18:16:13 0 cache files in table (0 blocks) 18:16:13 833 cache files on free-list 18:16:14 starting HDB scan 18:16:14 0 hdb entries in table 18:16:14 0 hdb entries on free-list 18:16:14 Kernel version ioctl failed. 18:16:14 Initial LRDB allocation 18:16:14 Getting Root Volume information... 18:16:14 Venus starting... 18:16:14 CHILD: mount system call failed. Killing parent. Killed ---------------------- I am running Coda 5.3.13 on a Redhat 6.2 system (Linux 2.2). Is it important that it says "Kernel version ioctl failed"? Why is the mount failing? Can someone please help me? I also tried to connnect to testserver.coda.cs.cmu.edu, and i get the following: ------------------------- [root_at_corvette src]# venus -init Date: Thu 05/03/2001 18:20:13 /usr/coda/LOG size is 548341 bytes 18:20:13 /usr/coda/DATA size is 2193364 bytes 18:20:13 Initializing RVM data... 18:20:13 ...done 18:20:13 Loading RVM data 18:20:14 starting VDB scan 18:20:14 1 volume replicas 18:20:14 0 replicated volumes 18:20:14 0 CML entries allocated 18:20:14 0 CML entries on free-list 18:20:14 starting FSDB scan (833, 20000) (25, 75, 4) 18:20:14 0 cache files in table (0 blocks) 18:20:14 833 cache files on free-list 18:20:14 starting HDB scan 18:20:14 0 hdb entries in table 18:20:14 0 hdb entries on free-list 18:20:14 Kernel version ioctl failed. 18:20:14 Initial LRDB allocation 18:20:14 Getting Root Volume information... 18:20:29 GetRootVolume: can't get root volume name! 18:20:59 GetRootVolume: can't get root volume name! ------------------------- As the manual said, I checked /etc/services and it seems ok. There is a firewall here, and that could be part of the problem connecting to testserver, but it should have no bearing on my own servers. Thanks a lot, RyanReceived on 2001-05-03 20:35:48
