I've been storing my XEmacs sources in Coda, and automatically CVS updating them by a daily cron job. Because there have been changes in the directory hierarchy over time, even if there are no recent changes to any files, because I have -dP set an update will involve creating a lot of directories and then removing them because they're empty in the current branch. At least, I think that's what's going on. This crashes venus pretty much daily, somewhere in the update process. Once this happens, I can restart and get one round of reintegration, then venus crashes again, like this: Date: Thu 08/14/2003 13:54:14 Coda Venus, version 6.0.2 [ normal startup messages elided] 13:54:19 /coda now mounted. 13:54:24 Reintegrate xe:21-5 pending tokens for uid = 1000 13:54:47 Resolved realm 'tleepslib.sk.tsukuba.ac.jp' 13:54:54 Reintegrate: xe:21-5, 100/159 records, result = Operation already in progress Assertion failed: f, file "vol_cml.cc", line 2256 Sleeping forever. It doesn't always crash.
