The mailing list is mainly for providing support to people having problems so, of course, you get to hear about all the ugly things that can happen to you when something goes wrong. People posting "it works fine for me" messages would get pretty tedious. > > When I first heard of coda it seemed heaven-sent > for someone like me. > It sounds like it would do well for you, modulo what Jan has said about the asynchronous nature of ADSL. I can also confirm that I have the same situation that you describe apart from the DSL and it works fine for me. I use Coda for doing my software development so I can automatically replicate my work to another machine (data backup) > > Is this a foolish or cowardly reaction? > Probably neither - being cautious is ok. As Jan pointed out there are mechanisms that can help prevent a catastrophic data loss (I have used those a couple of times). I would suggest you try out Coda, make frequent backups of your work while you familiarise yourself with it's operation. -- Brett LymnReceived on 2002-11-14 19:06:05
